The Lungs4Life 5k was first hosted in 2008 after Caine Halter president of Caine Commercial and an Upstate leader died of lung cancer. Caine’s death inspired his family to raise awareness of the disease and money to fund research – a dream that resulted in the birth of this 5k walk and run through Cleveland Park in Downtown Greenville.
In the past 4 years, the event has drawn 5,500 participants, and through race entry fees and donations more than $645,000 has been raised and donated to lung cancer research.
Watch this Caine TV exclusive to learn more about Caine’s story, the Halter family and how the Lungs4Life 5k event is making a difference in the Upstate community.

Sponsored by Greenville Business Magazine the award is given to those “hardworking men and women in Greenville who have made an impact in their organization or their community over the past year.” A panel from the Magazine’s staff selects the title winners.
This isn’t the first time Brad has received this title. In fact, this is the sixth year he has earned the distinction.
Of course, here at the Caine Companies, we couldn’t be any more proud of our President, but we also can’t think of a more deserving person.
Brad is strategic in guiding the direction of the company and his expertise in the industry is unmatched. He provides the inspiration and excitement that we meet every day when we walk through the doors of our various offices.
But, on a personal level, Brad touches each staff member and agent.
“It is amazing to me how Brad puts himself out there for the managers, staff and agents, not only professionally but also personally,” said Evon Hammett, Broker in Charge of our Spartanburg office. “He keeps himself abreast of everything that is going on in the lives of those that work for him.
Not only that, but he is extremely intuitive to the real estate market and has made a huge investment to help the Caine Companies move forward. While others are cutting back in this down economy, he has continually invested, not only in our company, but ultimately in our community, by giving us the best tools and technology to support our buyers and sellers and help them accomplish their goals.”
Coldwell Banker Caine recently recognized its top producing agents in property sales and listings from each of its five offices – Easley, Greenville, Greer, Seneca and Spartanburg – for the month of December.
The top producing agents from each office are ranked by the total volume of business closed last month and include:
